How to avoid a costly emergency call out

Emergency and after hours call outs are expensive, no matter which plumber you choose. Here are our top tips on how to avoid them:

1) Don't put off quick fixes - they soon gather memento until you're left with a huge problem that needs emergency attention.

2) Change your flexible hose connections on taps and toilets every five years or as soon as you notice them corroding. The majority of house floods start like this.

3) High water pressure is often a cause of burst pipes. The recommended water pressure is 500KPA and manufacturing warranty of taps and other appliances is also 500 KPA. To ensure your pressure doesn't exceed this, you can have a pressure limiting valve installed.

4) Don't flush baby wipes down the toilet - they don't degrade and can lead to blockages.
